On October 26, the Election Commission of India (ECI) appointed Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao as ‘National Icon’.
Inspired by Rajkumar’s acting in the film Newton, ECI has made him a national icon, for which Rajkumar is not charging any fees.
ECI has made Rajkumar Rao a ‘national icon’ for the upcoming assembly elections.
Rajkumar Rao was born on 31 August 1984 in Gurugram, Haryana.
2. Center approves ‘Jamrani Dam Project’ in Uttarakhand
On October 25, the Central Government has approved ‘Jamrani Dam Project’ in Uttarakhand. This project will be completed under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana’ programme.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that with the approval of ‘Jamrani Dam Project’, the problem of drinking water and electricity in Haldwani and surrounding areas will be solved.
Through this project, 57065 hectares of land will be brought under irrigation.
3. Opening Ceremony of the 37th National Games

The 37th season of the National Games has started from 25th October.
The official opening ceremony of the National Games began today (26 October) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.

Goa is hosting the National Games for the first time.
45 sports events will be held in Goa, but cycling and golf competitions will be held in Delhi.
There will be a total of 47 events in the National Games held in Goa.
More than 10,000 athletes are participating in these.

5. Ashok Gadgil and Shubra Suresh awarded National Medal in Technology and Innovation and National Medal of Science by USA
Recently, two American scientists of Indian origin named Ashok Gadgil and Shubra Suresh were honored with America’s Medal by President Joe Biden at the White House for their contribution in the field of technology and innovation.
Both these scientists were awarded the National Medal in Technology and Innovation and the National Medal of Science.
President Biden also honored prominent American scientists and inventors at the awards ceremony.

6. Sumit Antil won gold medal in Asian Para Games

Let us tell you that the Prime Minister Scheduled Caste Benefit Scheme is a scheme launched in the year 2021-22 to make the Scheduled Caste youth self-reliant.
It aims to reduce poverty of Scheduled Castes by creating additional employment opportunities through skill development, income generation schemes and other initiatives
