1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the branch of SBI in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.
Governor of Eastern Province of Sri Lanka Senthil Thondaman, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay and Chairman of SBI Dinesh Khara were present on the occasion.
Smt. Sitharaman appreciated the dedication of State Bank of India towards development both domestically and internationally, especially amid the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
Thanks to the efforts of SBI, the Government of India was able to smoothly extend a line of credit of $1 billion to Sri Lanka.

2. Election Commission signs MoU with Education Ministry to promote electoral literacy
The Election Commission of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education to bring electoral literacy to schools across the country.
Its objective is to include voter education and electoral literacy in the curriculum from classes 6th to 12th in all schools.
Under the MoU, study material on electoral literacy will be included in NCERT school textbooks and state education boards will also be advised to follow the same.
3. Shri Sarbananda Sonowal flags off the domestic sailing of the first international cruise liner ‘Costa Serena’
India’s first international cruise liner ‘Costa Serena’ commenced domestic sailing in Mumbai on 3rd November.
Under the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative, the appeal to the middle class to prioritize domestic tourism over international tourism drives the cruise initiative.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is focusing on putting India on the world sailing map.
Achieving the target of 50 million cruise passengers in India by 2047 was discussed at the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 recently organized by the Ministry.
This target can be achieved because India has immense potential.
Costa Cruises is expected to carry approximately 45,000 passengers on voyages over the next 2 months.
The biggest advantage for Indians is the experience of international sailing in Indian waters.
4. Dinanath Rajput honored with the second Rohini Nayyar Award
Former software engineer Dinanath Rajput has been honored with the second Rohini Nayyar Award for his significant contribution in the empowerment of tribal women in Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
Dinanath Rajput has established Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) only for women in Naxal affected areas.
5. 15th India-Singapore Defense Policy Dialogue held in New Delhi
The 15th India-Singapore Defense Policy Dialogue was held in New Delhi.
The talks were co-chaired by Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane and Permanent Secretary (Defence), Singapore Chan Heng Kee.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the existing defense cooperation between the two countries and agreed to enhance cooperation in service-to-service interactions and bilateral exercises.
They also took steps to advance cooperation in emerging areas such as cyber security.
6. Sachin Tendulkar’s statue unveiled at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium
Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has unveiled his life-size statue at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, where India won the 2011 edition of the ICC World Cup.
The statue was created by Pramod Kamble, a painter-sculptor from Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
This statue vividly captures Sachin Tendulkar delivering his cricket strokes. The great cricketer used this shot consistently to score over 34,000 runs in both Test and One Day International (ODI) matches.
Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman in the history of cricket to score 100 centuries. Wankhede Stadium is the home ground of Sachin Tendulkar where he played his last match in November 2013.
7. Rajnath Singh inaugurates ‘India Manufacturing Show’ in Bengaluru
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated the three-day ‘India Manufacturing Show’ in Bengaluru.
The show is jointly organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti and IMS Foundation and supported by the Department of Defense Production under the Ministry of Defence.
The central theme of the event is ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.
The 6th edition of ‘India Manufacturing Show’ will provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase their technologies, equipment and R&D to the participants in various sectors such as aerospace and defense engineering, automation, robotics and drones.
8. PM Modi inaugurates ‘World Food India 2023’ in New Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of the mega food event ‘World Food India 2023’ at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister distributed seed capital assistance to over one lakh Self Help Groups SHG members. This support will help the SHGs to improve packaging and quality manufacturing and get better prices in the market.

India-born author Nandini Das has been named the winner of the 2023 British Academy Book Award for Global Cultural Understanding for her book ‘Courting India: England, Mughal India and the Origins of Empire’.

10. Zahid Hussain won silver medal in Asian Shooting Championship
Zahid Hussain won silver medal at the prestigious Asian Shooting Championship 2023 held in South Korea.
