What is the NDA Exam?
The NDA Exam is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year. It is designed to select candidates for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy, as well as the Indian Naval Academy (INA).
What is the eligibility criteria for NDA?
Candidates must be male, unmarried, and aged between 16.5 and 19.5 years. They should have passed or be appearing in the 12th grade examination. For the Air Force and Navy, candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their 12th grade.
What is the selection process for NDA?
The selection process involves three stages:Written Examination: Candidates must pass this to move to the next stage.
Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview: This includes various psychological tests, group tasks, and a personal interview.
Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the SSB Interview are then required to pass a thorough medical examination.
The final selection is based on a merit list compiled from the written exam and SSB interview scores.
What is the exam pattern for NDA?
The written exam consists of two papers: Mathematics (300 marks) and General Ability Test (600 marks), making a total of 900 marks. Candidates who qualify for the written exam are called for the SSB Interview.
What are the physical standards required for NDA?
Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including height, weight, and vision requirements, as laid down by the UPSC. They should be in good physical and mental health.
NDA Syllabus 2024?
The syllabus for the UPSC NDA (National Defence Academy) exam in 2024 is divided into two main papers: Mathematics and the General Ability Test (GAT).
Mathematics:
Topics include Algebra, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Vector Algebra, Statistics, and Probability.
The Mathematics paper consists of 120 questions and carries a total of 300 marks.
General Ability Test (GAT):
The GAT paper is further divided into two sections:English: This section tests grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and general English usage.
General Knowledge: This includes Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography, and Current Events.
The GAT paper consists of 150 questions and is worth 600 marks.
